[00:00:15] So welcome back everyone to Scotland's Women Podcast

[00:00:18] This is a bonus episode with myself and Natalie

[00:00:22] We're gonna go through if you've just listened to the episode previously

[00:00:25] We're gonna go on to doing a laughter exercise

[00:00:29] So if you're depends on where your day is today, but it's very powerful and me and Natalie

[00:00:35] Invite you guys to join with us. So Natalie, it's over to you

[00:00:41] Okay, so laughter yoga is obviously a bit laughter and it's about yoga breathing

[00:00:45] So this is a brilliant exercise that we can all do

[00:00:49] So I would love for you to do it with me. So we're going to get deep breath in through the nose

[00:00:54] So breathe in and we're holding that breath

[00:00:58] And then gently we're gonna sigh out. We're just gonna go

[00:01:04] Okay, so we do that again. You breathe in through the nose

[00:01:07] Hold that breath

[00:01:10] Hold it and then sigh it out again. Then this time we're gonna laugh by breathing in through the nose

[00:01:17] Hold that breath hold it and then we're just gonna go

[00:01:25] It keep laughing

[00:01:27] So let's do it

[00:01:31] I'm more loving in Europe

[00:01:33] That's okay

[00:01:35] Oh, wait any casual breath. Okay. Um do it one more time. Okay. Yeah

[00:01:41] No one else coming okay

[00:01:44] Okay

[00:01:47] Hold that brand and they just laugh at you just go

[00:01:56] It's quite hard to get your breath. I'm like

[00:01:58] Is the ball

[00:02:00] It's like

[00:02:04] Your hand your belly and really make sure the laughter goes right down. So just

[00:02:08] Yeah

[00:02:26] It could have been my hands

[00:02:27] I'm actually laughing with a year and I'm trying to concentrate because I wasn't supposed to be doing

[00:02:32] I was supposed to be making a year and just laughing at you because I don't think I'm like okay

[00:02:39] It's just it doesn't matter whether you're laughing at me or whether you could just laugh at me

[00:02:43] No, I am sorry

[00:02:45] I don't mind

[00:02:47] I'm not one of these people that laugh out loud. I'm like more of a kind of you know, hissy old man

[00:02:54] You know at the end laugh and then I'm trying not to cry

[00:03:00] You need more proof of scannah for this

[00:03:03] Yeah, and he cashed my actual breath. I'm like he took my breath away

[00:03:09] How long are you meant to hold your breath in for?

[00:03:12] Just you're just a little bit to get a good break and then you just laugh it out

[00:03:16] Okay. Okay. So is all the listeners with me again? We'll go I'm gonna try this again. Okay. I'm actually sweating right

[00:03:24] Okay

[00:03:40] Wow, I feel a wee bit not weird I feel it number one because I've been holding my breath

[00:03:45] I feel a little bit like you're heading over here. Yeah

[00:03:48] Is that normal? Yeah, that's normal. Okay

[00:03:51] You're just gonna deep breath in you and then you're just laughing out. You're just releasing that laughter

[00:03:55] Okay, so what's this supposed to do? I feel quite

[00:03:59] I'm sweating. I feel a wee bit like I've got about an energy like my back and it was like I'm getting older

[00:04:04] My back was starting to hurt there. Yeah, and now I feel like okay

[00:04:08] Like we warm up honest before so when would this be good? Should I have done this before the podcast before the recording?

[00:04:16] probably

[00:04:18] Right, okay

[00:04:19] It's good to do this anytime anytime you can do it's such a good thing just for being more present

[00:04:25] Because we're conscious with our breathing

[00:04:27] We're doing a deep breath

[00:04:29] Because sometimes you're in a day. We don't notice our breathing at all

[00:04:33] So you're taking that conscious breath you're present with the breathing and then when you're laughing out, you're just releasing any stress

[00:04:40] Any any you know just feelings that you've had throughout the day

[00:04:44] You're just laughing them out and it doesn't matter that it's forced doesn't matter that it's pretend

[00:04:50] Because as you do this more regularly

[00:04:53] It becomes

[00:04:54] real

[00:04:55] But remember your body doesn't know the difference between pretend laughter and real laughter

[00:05:01] As you say you're going to get yourself an energy boost

[00:05:04] That wee bit of laughter

[00:05:06] Your energy boosted your mood

[00:05:09] It's really difficult to stay down when you're laughing

[00:05:13] I felt a wee bit stupid though for a while. I still like a wee bit. I do you feel a wee bit like

[00:05:19] I feel woo-woo now

[00:05:22] So I feel stupid and I'm like I feel forced

[00:05:25] Yeah, I do feel I'm not gonna lie. I do feel like a bit energized

[00:05:30] I should have done this before we started the record actually

[00:05:34] Um, you would have the less people would have got more out of me

[00:05:38] I

[00:05:40] Um, well, do you know what I've done as well? I've moved the mic. I'm actually sitting a bit taller now

[00:05:47] I'm pushing out the boobies

[00:05:50] Is that normal? Is that what's just to happen?

[00:05:52] Yeah, you're honestly you just energize yourself. So any movement you're moving that energy

[00:05:58] And you've just changed it get rid of all that stagnant energy. You're just laughing

[00:06:02] It's pretty much here

[00:06:04] You know the whole breathing exercises anyway, they just say like breathe in count 10 or whatever and leave it out

[00:06:10] That to me

[00:06:12] Is when I need to calm down

[00:06:14] If I've got really anxiety, I'm really nervous. I do that to calm my adrenaline down

[00:06:18] But this is to energize you so get anybody who's listening to this

[00:06:22] If you're going to go for that meeting or whatever if you're going to go in if you're going to do this

[00:06:26] Then go in and smash it because whoops

[00:06:29] I'm having like standing up straight here

[00:06:32] And if I have a situation where you can't laugh out loud you could do silent laughter

[00:06:37] So yeah, it doesn't help for your people that are listening and not watching

[00:06:45] But you're still laughing? I am

[00:06:50] I'm terrible at that one and if you're just gonna do that smile

[00:06:55] Smile smile from the inside out

[00:06:58] smile

[00:07:01] You are amazing at this. Honestly, like I feel really good right now and I can imagine going to your class

[00:07:08] Sorry that I am laughing at you a bit. I'm thinking about how I feel right now. That's what I'm doing

[00:07:14] Sorry, I was trying to explain that really badly but
